My client is one of the world’s leading manufacturers in their sector. They are currently looking for a skilled Project Engineer to support engineering, design, integration, and project delivery activities across complex machinery and conveyor-based systems.
The Role – Project Engineer
1. Produce 2D and 3D general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
2. Integrate in-house equipment (conveyors, structures and machinery) with third-party systems
3. Create optimised plant layouts ensuring material flow, process efficiency and space-saving
4. Develop detailed manufacturing drawings, models and BOMs using SolidWorks and MRP systems
5. Manage engineering development from concept through production, testing, installation and commissioning
6. Liaise with customers, suppliers, manufacturing and project teams to ensure technical accuracy
7. Attend site for measurements, installation support and project reviews
8. Produce technical specs, manuals, documentation and engineering standards
9. Ensure design quality, cost, safety and compliance across all stages of the project
10. Identify design improvements, reduce costs and enhance layouts or processes
11. Support Sales with technical input, proposals and layout reviews
12. Follow company procedures, Health & Safety standards and Quality processes
Minimum Skills / Experience Required – Project Engineer
13. Experience as a Project Engineer
14. Experience in sheet metal and fabricated product design
15. Experience with special purpose machinery (desirable), ideally conveyors
16. Proficient in SolidWorks 2024 and AutoCAD 2D
17. Knowledge of electrical engineering (basic)
18. Strong understanding of relevant industry regulations
19. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
20. Creative, innovative and continuous improvement–focused
21. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
22. Excellent IT skills
23. Confident with decision-making
24. HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
The Package:
25. Starting salary circa £45,000 per annum
26. Overtime available
