Description Job Description Are you interested in improving outcomes for children and young people? This is an exciting time to join the Learning Directorate as Scottish Education goes through a period of reform, including the National Discussion on education, and reforming Education Scotland and the SQA. The team is dedicated to improving educational outcomes, ensuring that schools recover from the impacts of COVID-19 while prioritising children and young people’s health and wellbeing and supporting educational reform. In this role, you will support the team to develop and deliver high-profile policies and initiatives aimed at improving relationships and behaviour, addressing anti-bullying and supporting mental health in schools. Please note this is a part time post of 0.61 FTE (21.3 hours a week) that sits within the Improvement, Attainment and Wellbeing Division of the Learning Directorate, part of the DG Education and Justice family. Responsibilities Assist in the provision of briefing and advice to Ministers and officials on a wide range of issues. Support the provision of responses to MiCase correspondence, FOI requests and PQs, working with the team and colleagues across the Unit as needed. Provide any other administrative support which may be required for the team, including processing financial payments and providing secretariat for working groups. Assist with ad hoc pieces of work with teams across the Health and Wellbeing Unit as needed. If invited for further assessment, this will consist of an interview and a presentation. Assessments are scheduled for 15/07/25 onwards however this may be subject to change. This post is based in Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, whilst virtual and Hybrid working is the current arrangement, some attendance in the office will be required and travel to meetings. Please note from October 2025 there will be an expectation of attendance in office for 40% of the working week, this will be pro rata for part time hours.
