Sodexo provides integrated facilities and catering services on site. We are seeking a reliable and proactive Kitchen Porter to support the safe, hygienic, and efficient operation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with company, client, and statutory standards.
The Role
The Kitchen Porter plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment, enabling the effective production and service of food. This role operates within a fast-paced, standards-driven environment, requiring attention to detail, consistency, and a strong team ethic.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all kitchen areas, including pot wash, equipment, utensils, and storage areas in line with cleaning schedules
* Operate dishwashing equipment safely and effectively, ensuring all items are cleaned and stored correctly
* Support the receipt, checking, storage, and rotation of stock in accordance with food safety procedures
* Ensure all food waste and recyclables are disposed of correctly, in line with environmental and hygiene regulations, with appropriate recording where required
* Comply with all company and statutory regulations relating to health & safety, food hygiene, COSHH, and safe systems of work
* Wear and maintain appropriate PPE and uniform standards at all times
* Report any incidents, hazards, equipment issues, or customer feedback to the management team promptly
* Assist with basic food preparation and support the wider catering team as required
* Contribute to delivering a consistent, high-quality (5-star) service to all customers

Desirable:
* Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment
* Experience working within a standards or compliance-led environment
* Basic knowledge of food safety and health & safety practices
Additional Information
This role requires flexibility to support a rotating shift pattern, including weekend working, to meet the needs of the business.
