Hewitson Plant Hire is a well-established and respected name in the plant hire industry. Due to continued growth and increased demand, we are looking to recruit experienced Plant Fitters to join our expanding team.
Based in Teesside, this role will involve both workshop duties and site visits, so flexibility, organisation and a proactive approach are essential.
The Role
As a Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a wide range of plant and construction equipment, ensuring machinery is safe, compliant and ready for hire.
Duties will include:
* Servicing and maintenance of plant machinery
* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
* Preparing equipment for hire
* Carrying out inspections and safety checks
* Managing your own workload efficiently
* Keeping accurate digital records of servicing intervals and maintenance using tablets
* Completing job sheets and service documentation
* Attending site breakdowns and customer locations as required

What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or Plant Mechanic
* Strong knowledge of hydraulics, engines and electrical systems
* Experience working on excavators, dumpers, telehandlers and general plant equipment
* Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise tasks
* Comfortable using tablets to record servicing schedules and maintenance data
* Full UK driving licence (essential)
* Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or similar preferred)
