Overview
Certification Engineer - Radio is an opportunity to join our team. As a member of the operations team, the engineer performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department and ensures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in core business and technical skills including compliance with established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical and engineering leadership, and support the development of new technologies within a local laboratory
* Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable
* Obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing
* Oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities
* Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
* Provide input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
* Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders
* Assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory
* Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data
* Utilize an assortment of skills, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis
* Draw on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions
Skills / Qualifications
* High level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminology and boundaries of the engineering discipline
* Minimum of 2 years’ pertinent post-degree engineering experience, or advanced academic/professional qualifications
* In-depth understanding of testing concepts
* Ability to analyze and compile testing data from tests performed
* Strong computer skills
* Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry is a plus
* Ability to work on well-defined issues and routine tests with minimal supervision
* Initiative to act without needing frequent instruction
* Ability to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols
* Lead and assign work of others when needed
* Manage job priority and work time to meet targets/goals
* Recognized by colleagues for strong technical knowledge
