Career-Bridge Recruitment are working with a well established construction and maintenance contractor delivering high quality services across a range of public sector projects. They are seeking a confident and capable Trainee /Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial team on a variety of projects, with a focus on frameworks and refurbishment works across sectors such as education, heritage, and local authority buildings. This role will suit someone looking to further develop their QS career with a hands on position that offers genuine responsibility, variety, and the opportunity to work on meaningful community-based projects. Working on some interesting projects within the public sector projects (e.g., schools, heritage sites, local authority frameworks) is advantageous Key Responsibilities * Assist with the preparation, review, and management of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) * Support the commercial management of subcontractor packages, including procurement, measurement, and payment * Aid in the preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts * Liaise with site teams to monitor progress and ensure commercial processes are followed * Assist with cost reporting and project forecasting * Work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to deliver commercially successful projects Requirements * Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar QS or Assistant QS role * Strong working knowledge of BOQs and general quantity surveying procedures * Comfortable working with subcontractors and assisting in managing valuations and payments * Experience working on public sector projects (e.g., schools, heritage sites, local authority frameworks) is advantageous * Familiarity with planned maintenance or refurbishment projects desirable * Full UK driving licence What We Offer * Competitive salary of £30,000 – £35,000 DOE * Ongoing training and professional development * Opportunity to work on varied and meaningful projects * Supportive team environment
