GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a warm and inclusive primary school in Pevensey. Role Overview As a Primary SEN TA, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, ADHD, and social-emotional needs. You will be instrumental in promoting confidence, engagement, and personal growth. Job Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils with additional needs. Implement EHCP targets and support learning through differentiated activities. Assist with personal care, emotional regulation, and behaviour management when required. Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to monitor progress. Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment that supports every child’s well-being. Record and report pupil development and communicate effectively with parents/carers. Job Requirements: Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting. Knowledge of strategies to support autism, ADHD, sensory processing, or speech and language needs. A patient, calm, and consistent approach to supporting emotional and behavioural challenges. Relevant qualifications or training (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Makaton, or PECS) are advantageous. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Join GSL Education Today!
