What are we looking for?
Proven experience in finance, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector Understanding of charity finance, fundraising, and pension arrangements Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences Skilled in analysing proposals and assessing their financial implications Willingness to provide timely advice and support to staff on financial matters, sometimes on an ad hoc basis during office hours Be comfortable to make challenging recommendations to the board when necessary Experience in preparing management accounts, overseeing audits, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements Ability to develop and implement budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies that support the charity's objectives Strong leadership and team collaboration skills, including supporting and developing financial literacy across the organisation Capacity to manage cash flow, monitor financial risks, and ensure sound internal controls Commitment to upholding the charity's values, promoting transparency, and contributing to strategic planning and decision-making Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the evolving needs of the charity sector
