Job Brief: Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting for an experienced Business Data Analyst to join our finance team situated in Bellshill. In this role, you will analyse financial data (including operational data, HR, etc), to develop insightful reports, and provide actionable recommendations to support strategic financial decision-making. You will support the organisation to make sense of the vast amounts of the data they collect and assist in the creation of interactive dashboards to visually present a compelling story about your findings. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance, data analysis, and modelling who can turn complex data into clear insights. Main Responsibilities: Data Analysis & Reporting: analyse large sets of financial data to uncover trends, evaluate performance, and support forecasting. Prepare detailed financial reports and visualisations for internal stakeholders. Financial Modelling: develop, maintain, and improve financial models that forecast company revenue, expenses, and profitability, aligning with the strategic objectives. Data Management: collect, organise, and validate financial data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Variance Analysis: perform monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis, comparing actual results to forecasts and budgets. Identify key drivers of financial performance and communicate insights. Performance Tracking: monitor key financial and operational metrics, providing insights on revenue, costs, profitability, and operational efficiencies. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and senior management, to support financial decision-making and ensure data accuracy. Support the budgeting process and provide accurate forecasting through data-driven insights. Skills and Qualifications: 3 years of experience in financial analysis, data analysis, or a related field. Proficiency in data analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel, Access, SQL, Power BI). Experience with financial modelling and advanced Excel functions. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial databases. Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to handle large datasets and extract meaningful insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in data validation and report creation. Ability to think critically, identify challenges, and propose innovative solutions.
