About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi‑Skilled Operative with strong plastering experience to join our responsive repairs team in Hastings covering Hastings to Brighton. This is a hands‑on role working across occupied social housing properties, delivering high‑quality repairs with plastering as your core trade, alongside supporting works across other trades as required.
You’ll be completing day‑to‑day repairs following leaks, maintenance works, and general wear and tear, ensuring properties are left safe, secure, and finished to a high standard. This role suits someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well independently, and understands the importance of good customer service when working in residents’ homes.
Key Duties
1. Carry out day‑to‑day responsive repairs across social housing properties
2. Complete patch plastering, skimming, and making good to walls and ceilings
3. Repair plaster damage following leaks, damp, or previous maintenance works
4. Ensure finishes are left to a high standard, ready for decoration
5. Undertake basic domestic plumbing repairs including leaks, taps, toilets, wastes, and pipework
6. Complete minor tiling repairs, sealing, and finishing works linked to repairs
7. Carry out basic locksmith duties such as lock changes and securing properties
8. Complete general making‑good works following repairs across all trades
9. Work professionally and sensitively within occupied homes
10. Accurately record works completed using handheld devices
11. Identify and report any additional works or safeguarding concerns
12. Participate in an out‑of‑hours emergency call‑out rota where required
13. Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment
Role Criteria:
14. Proven experience in plastering, including patching, skimming and making good
15. Experience working within domestic or social housing repairs
16. Ability to carry out multi‑skilled works, including basic plumbing, wall/floor tiling and minor locksmith duties to support repairs
17. Willingness to assist and support additional trades alongside plastering works
18. Comfortable managing jobs independently from start to finish
19. Strong attention to detail with a right first time approach
20. Professional and customer‑focused manner when working in residents’ homes
21. Good understanding of health & safety procedures
22. Confident using handheld devices for job updates and reporting
23. Full UK driving licence
24. Own hand tools
25. Willingness to join an out‑of‑hours emergency rota
