Summer Operational Support Assistant - Cleaning
Over the summer period, the Facilities department will host a high volume of conference guests at the University. These bookings range from international summer school visitors to groups booking conference events using the University’s facilities. This increased demand offers opportunities for individuals seeking work experience as part of a summer team that supports the smooth operation of the university and contributes to various operational areas.
This role requires candidates to be highly motivated and flexible, with the ability to meet the needs of the business across 7 days a week. Availability to work between June and September 2025 is essential. This paid position is an excellent opportunity to enhance your CV. Training and support will be provided where appropriate. Evening and weekend work will be required, and some activities may require a suitable level of physical fitness.
Background
The Facilities Department provides a wide range of services within the University of Worcester, including Accommodation, Conferencing, Reception, Estates, Commercial bookings, Catering, Security Operations, which encompasses Cleaning, Campus Services, Grounds, and Security. This role specifically pertains to the cleaning team.
The Cleaning Services team offers comprehensive customer-focused cleaning services to meet the University’s growing needs. These include cleaning all university sites and facilities, as well as deep cleaning with specialist equipment.
Your workplace will be the University of Worcester. You may be required to work at any of the University’s current or future sites, which include St Johns, Battenhall, Stephenson Terrace, Grove Farm, City Centre, Lakeside, University Arena, Riverside, and the Three Counties Medical School.
