Park Warden (Temporary) - Belfast City Council Ormeau Road, Belfast BT7 3GG PAYE: £15.82 per hour 37 hours per week | Shift work (incl. evenings & weekends) Start date: 12 May 2026 Duration: 12 weeks = ongoing Full driving licence required About the Role We are recruiting a Park Warden (Manual Labour) to support Belfast City Council's Parks and Cemeteries Operational Services team on a temporary basis. You will play a key role in maintaining safe, clean and welcoming parks and open spaces across Belfast, ensuring compliance with by-laws and supporting positive public use of council facilities. Key Responsibilities Patrolling parks, cemeteries and open spaces Enforcing by-laws including littering, dog fouling, alcohol control and anti-social behaviour Carrying out inspections and reporting hazards, damage and incidents Supporting public safety at events and in parks Collecting litter, waste and hazardous materials safely Opening/closing park buildings and securing sites Completing reports, records and using PDA/radio systems Supporting community engagement and providing customer assistance Assisting with court evidence and enforcement activity where required Shift Pattern This role operates on a rotating 4-week shift pattern: Early shift: 06:30 - 15:00 Late shift: 13:00 - 22:00 Weekend working required Shift allowance included About You To be successful, you will have: At least 1 year's experience in a public-facing role Experience in security, patrol or site control duties Experience in enforcement or regulatory roles (e.g. litter control, by-laws, dog control) Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports Good awareness of health & safety practices Ability to work independently and as part of a team Requirements Full valid UK driving licence (essential) Eligible to work in the UK Willingness to complete Belfast City Council pre-employment checks Willingness to undertake enforcement training if required
