* Position Title: Communications Student Assistant, Engineering - $8.50/hour

* Duration of Appointment: Fall, Spring
* Work Schedule: Flexible work schedule during M-F business hours; preference to students available after Tuesday chapel.
Position Description
Under general supervision of the Engineering Communications Manager, the student partners with him/her to showcase the work being done in the department on social media platforms and in other types of communications.
Experience and Skills
* Major Preferred:
* Experience Required: Previous experience and/or specialized training in communications.
* Experience Preferred: Successfully proficient in telling the Engineering story.
* Skills, Characteristics Required for Position
1. Maintains a good reputation and positive working relationship with communications manager, professors and students.
2. Demonstrates dependability and reliability.
3. Should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
4. Practices good communications skills – articulates effectively.
5. Ability to capture student highlights through photos or videos, and compose a very brief summary of the activity.

Primary Duties
1. Capture department highlights by means of photography or video
2. Write a brief summary of the activity
3. Work closely with Communications Manager and Department Chair to ensure the Engineering Department has a consistent presence across several social media platforms.
4. Maintain consistent and reliable assistance.
