If you’re an experienced Finance Manager who thrives on keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, this part-time interim role offers the perfect blend of flexibility and impact. Joining a growing logistics business with a small, friendly finance team, you’ll provide steady support while the Finance Director focuses on implementing a new system. This is a hands-on role where your technical know-how will keep the numbers accurate and the month end on track. The opportunity Part-time flexibility – around 20 hours per week, with the freedom to spread this across 5 shorter days or condensed hours. Immediate impact – step in and keep the finance function steady during a period of change. The role is on a temporary basis for around 3 months. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for: Preparing monthly management accounts and month-end reporting Managing accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations Checking ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness Maintaining P&L, balance sheet and cashflow – ideally with the ability to build these in Excel Ensuring a smooth handover between systems (currently Sage, moving to Business Central) Acting as a safe pair of hands while the FD delivers strategic projects What you will need: To be qualified ( ACCA / CIMA / ACA ) or QBE with solid SME experience A proven background in management accounts and core accounting (debits and credits, P&L) Intermediate – advanced Excel skills A steady and methodical approach, reliable and comfortable working independently in a part-time capacity The details: Interim basis – approximately 3 months with potential to extend Hours: around 20 per week, flexible as to whether this is worked over 5 days or condensed Location: office-based in Reading Rate: £25-£30 per hour Clearance: SC clearance required (can start with restricted access) If you would like to find out more about this role, please apply with your CV or LinkedIn PDF.
