The opportunity for you

Taylor Wessing is a global law firm working with some of the world's most innovative businesses. We are seeking a Senior Financial Crime Analyst to join our Risk Management team. This is a pivotal role, acting as the main point of escalation for financial crime matters across the firm, including AML, counter-terrorist financing, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, and tax evasion prevention. You'll work closely with the Head of Risk and Business Acceptance Manager, providing expert guidance and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional with advanced knowledge of financial crime issues to make a real impact in a dynamic, international environment.


Key responsibilities

1. Serve as the primary escalation point for financial crime matters within the Business Acceptance team.
2. Advise on sanctions applicability and determine if issues require SAR submission to the NCA.
3. Draft SARs for approval by the Business Acceptance Manager and MLRO.
4. Oversee ongoing monitoring processes for relevant clients and support implementation.
5. Monitor and research sanctions notices, updating processes as needed.
6. Provide expert advice to partners and fee earners on financial crime-related matters.
7. Ensure compliance with anti-bribery and corruption policies by monitoring the gifts and hospitality register.
8. Stay current with legislative and regulatory changes, supporting policy development.
9. Assist with training needs identification and delivery within the Business Acceptance team.
10. Support regulatory visits, audits, and annual AML reviews.


Knowledge, skills and experience

11. Advanced knowledge of financial crime regulations and best practices (AML, sanctions, anti-bribery, tax evasion prevention).
12. Proven experience in a compliance, risk, or financial crime role within a professional services or regulated environment.
13. Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex issues.
14. Excellent communication skills to advise stakeholders at all levels.
15. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
