Job Opportunity: Soft FM Service Manager
The Healthcare & Education Division of OCS Group has an exciting opportunity at its prestigious multi-site contracts in East London, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire. OCS is recognized worldwide as a market leader in the Healthcare and Education sectors, committed to making people and places the best they can be.
The role involves leading a team to deliver integrated Soft FM services across 74 NHS Mental Health sites in the region. Responsibilities include managing operational teams, ensuring service delivery aligns with budgets and specifications, and monitoring service quality and financial performance through reporting and KPI management.
Key focus on social value and driving a social agenda is central to this role.
This high-profile NHS contract generates approximately £13m in revenue and covers services such as Cleaning, Patient Catering, Retail Catering, Pest Control, Grounds and Gardens, Linen and Laundry, Portering, Pharmacy Courier, Security, Feminine Hygiene, Window Cleaning, and Vending. Additionally, the role includes operational leadership of a critical distribution hub supporting this and another OCS contract.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and implement operational procedures.
2. Provide strategic support to all sites within the portfolio.
3. Ensure ISO compliance across sites.
4. Manage services provided by staff, sub-contractors, and management teams to meet SLAs and budgets.
5. Build and maintain relationships with client decision-makers.
6. Ensure high-quality service delivery and legislative compliance.
7. Assist in proposal development, client liaison, and business growth initiatives.
8. Manage budgets for each site.
9. Lead project management of new initiatives.
10. Provide regular reports and management information.
11. Promote service accreditation, social value, and environmental goals.
12. Ensure contract compliance and health & safety on-site.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
* Operational experience with multiline budgets and P&L management.
* Excellent communication, presentation, persuasion, and motivational skills.
* Proven experience managing outsourced Soft FM services.
* Knowledge of Social Value measurement tools (beneficial but not essential).
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Innovative, lateral thinking.
* Knowledge of NHS 2021 Cleaning standards.
* Food Safety Level 3 (Level 4 preferred).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power BI, and people management software.
* Understanding of HR processes and procedures.
