We are recruiting a full time Recovery and Wellbeing Worker to join our Step-Down Team in Wells to support individuals leaving psychiatric inpatient care to transition back to independence.
The Step-Down Service is a temporary accommodation that aims to work with clients on their journey from acute services to securing their own accommodation. We work on coproducing strength-based, individual recovery plans that provide strategies to; better manage their mental health, build resilience and nurture positive relationships. From the moment someone moves in, the focus will be on working together to find a suitable housing pathway right for the individual and building practical living skills to support independence and wellbeing.
You will provide support through 1:1 sessions with the clients focusing on their individual goals, tailored support plans and levels of interventions suitable for the individual. Throughout the clients stay at the Step-Down house, we will engage with local partners and our wider Open Mental Health VCSE Alliance (OMHVA) support offer to ensure sustained positive outcomes. We will also offer 6 weeks of over-the-phone support to facilitate the transition back into independence.

We are an accommodation-based service that operates 9am-5pm 7 days a week, 365 days a year to support our clients maintain a meaningful life and continue their pathway to recovery. Therefore, weekend and bank holiday working is included on a rota basis.
About you
You will:
* Be passionate about improving the lived experience and health of people using mental health services.
* Have proven knowledge of support needs of people with mental health needs.
* IT skills including ability to produce various documents in Word, use of email and internet and devising case notes on CRM systems.
* You will be confident in working autonomously and have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* You will be practiced at working alongside people using a holistic approach tailored to each individual’s needs.
* Experience of time management and competing priorities when supporting people with complex needs.
* Commitment to service user participation and involvement.
* Able to work flexible hours including weekends and bank holidays.
* A current, full driving licence and access to appropriate motorised vehicular transport.
