Key Responsibilities As a Social Worker within the CIC Team, your focus will be on delivering high-quality, child-centred statutory social care. Your responsibilities will include: Managing a caseload of children and young people in care. Fulfilling statutory duties in line with the Children Act 1989, including care planning, statutory visits, and child reviews. Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans that promote stability, permanence, and positive outcomes. Building trusting relationships with children to support their emotional, developmental, and educational needs. Collaborating with foster carers, residential carers, birth families, Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs), and partner agencies in health and education. Preparing detailed reports for Looked After Reviews, permanence panels, and court proceedings where required. Attending and contributing to reviews, professional meetings, and court hearings. Identifying and addressing safeguarding concerns to protect children from harm. Maintaining accurate and timely case records. Operating within the framework of relevant legislation and council policies. Participating in supervision, training, and continuous professional development. Person Specification We are seeking individuals with: Professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children in care or similar statutory settings. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
