Smiles Dental Care is expanding, and we are excited to welcome a motivated and caring Dental Nurse to join our friendly and professional team.
About Smiles Dental Care
Smiles Dental Care is part of a well-established dental group with 100+ surgeries across 35 practices throughout Northern Ireland and the North West of England. Our Ballymena practice provides high-quality NHS and private dentistry, including general dentistry, cosmetic treatments, implants, aligners, and restorative care.
The Role
This role is ideal for a Dental Nurse who enjoys working as part of a close-knit clinical team and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.
You will be actively involved chairside, supporting clinicians across a wide range of treatments while helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit.
* Full-time or part-time hours available
* Working hours between 8:00am and 7:00pm
* Clinical days Monday to Saturday
* Position initially offered on a zero-hour contract, with the opportunity to move into a permanent role
Final working patterns will be discussed at the interview stage.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Chairside Support
* Providing high-quality chairside assistance to dentists during procedures
* Preparing surgeries, instruments, and materials before and after treatments
* Ensuring strict adherence to cross-infection control and decontamination protocols
Patient Care
* Welcoming and reassuring patients before, during, and after treatment
* Providing post-operative instructions and oral health advice
* Supporting nervous or anxious patients with a calm, professional approach
Clinical Administration
* Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical notes
* Assisting with digital charting, radiographs, and clinical software systems
* Supporting consent processes and compliance with CQC/GDC standards
Practice Support
* Stock control and equipment checks
* Supporting the wider team to ensure smooth daily clinic operations
What We're Looking For
* Essential: GDC-registered Dental Nurse
* Experience: Previous experience in a dental practice preferred
* Skills: Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
* Technical Confidence: Comfortable using dental software and digital systems
* Team Player: Reliable, proactive, and positive with a strong work ethic
