Overview
The Nursing Support Worker is a vital part of the Multi Disciplinary Team. Acting under the direction of registered nurses, the Nursing Support Worker is responsible for engaging in a variety of interventions with patients, including direct nursing care, observation and engagement activities, monitoring physical health and psychosocial interventions in the wider community and in the patient’s home. The role contributes to the patient’s recovery pathway and supports information flow into multidisciplinary assessments and Care and Treatment Plans.
Mental Health Services in Carmarthen are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Nursing Support Workers to join the inpatient team on Morlais Ward (Adult Acute Inpatient). Interviews are scheduled for 07/10/2025. The ability to work flexibly in a busy environment and within a shift system providing 24 hour cover, 365 days a year is required.

Responsibilities
* Engage in a variety of interventions with patients under the direction of registered nurses.
* Provide direct, compensatory nursing care and support as part of the patient’s treatment plan.
* Conduct observation and engagement activities in line with policies; monitor physical health.
* Deliver psychosocial interventions in community and home settings as appropriate.
* Contribute to MDT assessments and help inform Care and Treatment Plans through direct patient contact.
* Model effective and reciprocal communication and relationships with patients.
* Be flexible to work within a shift system providing 24/7 coverage.
