:
Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse and GPPartners strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines andprotocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team inthe provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
Duties and responsibilities:
New patient healthchecks
NHS Health checks
Screening for AtrialFibrillation
BP check & ReviewBP checks
Weight, Height and BPcheck.
10 year CHD riskmanagement and Risk calculation
ECG recording
Phlebotomy (if appropriate)
Spirometry recording
Chaperoning duties
Vaccine/cold chainstorage, monitoring and recording as advised
Assisting in theassessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Undertaking specificclinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
Helping to raiseawareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with thecollection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
Injectables under PSD guidanceand protocols; Flu vaccine Pneumococcal vaccine (Over 65s) B12 injections(supported by Practice Nurse/GP)
DQOF LTC support to PracticeNurse / GP
Any other duties within myskills and competencies framework and felt appropriate to my job role at DudleyWood Surgery.

Experience
Essential
1. We are looking for a HCA with previous experience of general practice. Someone who can take the initiative as part of our practice team to drive forward practice improvement and assist with the management of chronic and assist with acute patient care.
Desirable
2. Working in Primary care with recognised certifications and competencies.
