To assist in curating the West Cheshire Museums collections (predominantly Natural History and Geology, but assisting with other collections where required); interpreting and displaying the collections to the public; documenting and caring for the collections both in storage and on display; and working in collaboration with colleagues and external organisations to deliver collections-based projects and activities.

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Assistant Curator with West Cheshire Museums, an exciting opportunity to continue to care for and develop our collections and manage our curatorial team.
This role is crucial to West Cheshire Museums - to preserve and develop our collections, maintain our Accredited status, and to assist with our exhibitions programme.
The primary aim of this role is to assist in curating the West Cheshire Museums collections with the post holder focusing primarily on Natural History collections, working to improve documentation, interpretation and storage of these vitally important collections. The role will also develop and curate exhibitions and displays, as well as working in collaboration with colleagues and external organisations to deliver other collections-based projects and activities.

The post will work across all four museums to care for, develop and display our collections, work with external artists and creators on exhibitions, support the work of the curatorial team, volunteers and work-placement students as required.
