Description Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood is recruiting for Senior / Principal Materials Engineers to join our Projects - Equipment Engineering Group. This is a staff position supporting a number of FEED and EPC petrochemical, Oil & Gas and energy transition projects. The position will be based in our Reading office with Hybrid working considered. LI-Hybrid The Role Materials Engineers play a key part in our FEED and EPC delivery in various stages of the project. Including selection, review and evaluation you will ensure that your skills and knowledge are utilised to the full to deliver successful project outcomes. We are looking for those early in their Materials Engineering career right through to highly experienced individuals. The role can present opportunities for both project and people leadership working in a range of interesting and diverse sectors including; Upstream / Midstream / Downstream Oil & Gas Chemicals Renewable Energy Power Mining & Minerals Industrials & Manufacturing Life Sciences Transportation Water Government services Our Clients & Projects Designing the future. It will take all of us working together to deliver solutions to the world’s most critical challenges Expected: Extensive experience in materials engineering in the Oil and Gas, Refinery and Petrochemicals industries Desirable: Familiarity with the following; Relevant ASME, API, NACE Publications Knowledge of stainless steel, Cr - Mo alloy steels and low alloy Ni - steels Welding and fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks and piping Non - destructive examination techniques for welded joints Cathodic Protection Lining and coating systems
