Overview
Specialist Occupational Therapist @Home Service role at Temple B'nai Abraham. The post holder will provide an Occupational Therapy (OT) service to the @Home service based in Dewi Sant Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment and rehabilitation services to service users referred to the @Home service.
* Work to achieve competencies to facilitate role blurring across traditional OT boundaries, including work with integrated Health & Social Care teams.
* Deliver services in hospital and service users' homes in the community; access CTMUHB therapy departments and Local Authority premises if required.
* Meet performance indicators such as reduction in length of stay, improving independence, and delivering and monitoring accredited competency-based training (e.g., Calderdale).
* Sustain and develop expert skills through an agreed personal development plan; maintain clinical records per local and professional guidelines.
* Provide leadership for new and support staff through supervision and allocation of work; supervise students as an accredited practice educator.
* Educate and train other health and social care professionals and internal/external stakeholders; prepare presentations and handouts as needed.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hospital, intermediate care, local authority, primary care, and third sector organisations.
* Engage in education, supervision, and competency development for the team and contribute to standards and outcome measurement for good practice.
* Balance professional issues such as confidentiality and duty of care in a multi-disciplinary setting while promoting professionalism for Occupational Therapy.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Postgraduate experience in a specialist area related to physical rehabilitation.
* Maintain high clinical and professional standards; adhere to national guidelines and evidence-based practice.
* Maintain competency to practice through CPD and a professional portfolio per HCPC guidelines.
* Engage in regular supervision with the Clinical Lead; participate in performance appraisal and peer support activities.
* Be able to manage a defined caseload and use advanced clinical reasoning to identify barriers and develop intervention plans.
* Be actively involved in in-service training, local training programs, and relevant multidisciplinary education activities.
* Be a point of reference for complex cases within the specialised area and support staff development.
* Be able to balance confidentiality and duty of care within a multi-agency setting and promote professional standards externally and internally.

* Welsh Desirable: Welsh language skills are advantageous for short-listing and selection (speaking and listening at Level 3, CEFR B2 or above).
