Overview
The Continence Team promotes continence, assesses assessed patients with continence issues, advises on treatment and management options. Your role will be key to supporting this.
Responsibilities
* Patients are seen in the clinic setting, in the community and in care homes.
* You will be expected to liaise closely with carers and other health professionals.
* The team also delivers education and so candidates must be prepared to take part in this.
* A full induction programme will be designed with the successful individual and you will be well supported in your new role.
* Support the continence team to provide continence promotion, treatment strategies and management options to patients with continence problems. This will be delivered through carrying out continence reassessments in the community, care home, clinic and community hospital setting.
* Develop and maintain close links with other professionals.
* Support providing education to others regarding continence care. This will be achieved through clinical practice, delivering teaching and providing advice and support.
Qualifications
* The successful candidate will be motivated, caring, have good communication skills and have a keen interest in continence care.
* A level 3 qualification or equivalent in Health and Social Care and evidence of working in the sector is essential.
* Further role specific training will be offered to the successful candidate.

Team
The Continence Team is a small friendly team of 8 nurses and healthcare assistants. We have a passion for continence care and want to improve the lives of the patients we meet. We are part of a wider continence network; meeting regularly with the urology nurses, continence physios, children’s continence nurses and urology/urogynae consultants.
