A specialist mental health school in Thatcham is seeking a Criminology Graduate to join their team in September as a Learning Support Assistant.
Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who face a range of social, emotional and mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, attachment needs, and low self-esteem. Your role will be crucial in helping them navigate the school day, providing academic guidance and therapeutic support.
Your daily duties will include:
* Working 1:1 and in small groups with vulnerable students.
* Learning and implementing a trauma‑informed, therapeutic approach within the classroom.
* Helping students build confidence, resilience and emotional regulation skills.
* Tutoring students in key subject areas, particularly where they are less confident.
* Collaborating with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
Qualifications
This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking to build hands‑on experience in a mental health and behavioural setting. The school is seeking a graduate who is confident, proactive, calm and supportive. Previous experience working with children and/or vulnerable individuals would be beneficial, but not essential.

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
Salary
£85 to £100 per day
