Overview
Our client, a leading independent Oil & Gas operator based in Norwich, is seeking an Environmental Team Lead to join their QSSHE department and be an integral part of a collaborative and dynamic team. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Norwich. Some travel to other sites and offshore visits may be required.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in the environmental field of offshore upstream Oil & Gas (operator environment) at Advisor or Team Leader level.
* Demonstrable breadth of experience including offshore production, subsea, drilling and well intervention operations.
* Knowledge of the UK regulatory environmental framework and how it can be influenced.
* Knowledge of emissions management and emissions trading schemes relating to offshore operations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Degree in Environmental Management, Engineering or a related field.
* Trained ISO14001 auditor.
* Working knowledge of SCR2015.
* Familiarity with PORTAL, EEMS, ETSWAP (or UK equivalents).
* Knowledge of SECR.
* Ability to build excellent relationships to influence and collaborate with peers and stakeholders to deliver mutual success.
* Pragmatic approach to work while acting with integrity.
* Ability to influence multi-disciplinary internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Management of all OPPC, ETS and Chemical permits for offshore operations.
* Review all permit submissions to the regulator.
* Provide competent and proactive environmental support to onshore and offshore producing assets.
* Provide technical input into Terminal Environmental Operations.
* Produce an Environmental Plan that sets out key initiatives and milestones for delivery in support of ISO14001.
* Coordinate and lead the maintenance of ISO14001:2015.
* Complete programmed audits and inspections as scheduled.
* Owner of the Environmental SEMS documents.
* Ensure timely submission of internal and external reporting (e.g., EEMS, OSPAR, OPPC, SECR).
* Represent the company in external affairs concerning environmental management.
* Provide advice on environmental policy and regulatory compliance to the team.
* Coordinate monitoring and review of environmental regulatory changes and their potential business impact.
* Regularly review personnel and contractor performance against environmental operating standards via site visits, inspections and/or audits.
* Conduct site visits to support line management investigations into events, root causes and preventative measures.
* Ensure environmental requirements, risks, controls and mitigations are understood and implemented from operations through to decommissioning, including projects, drilling and infill programs.
* Work with the training team to develop and maintain training and advisory documents, and deliver training sessions.
* Ensure OPEPs are maintained.
* Member of the Incident Management Team (IMT).
* Provide input and oversight of the environmental element of the HSE budget.
* Input into project PLANC and provide technical supervision of the Projects Environmental Advisor.
Safety & Environmentally Critical Courses
* Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences
* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
* Incident Investigator course
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Team Leader or Supervisory experience.
* 10 years in the Oil and Gas industry.
* Full Member of IEMA or equivalent.
* Trained incident investigator.
* MSc Environmental Management or similar.
* Experience of onshore terminals.
* COMAH.
* NORM Management / RPS.
