Introduction
Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant looking to work for a company that supports, values, and recognises your dedication to delivering great healthcare? If so, join The Avalon Centre as an Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist Assistant.
Under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist, you will support functional skill-building by facilitating activities in self-care, meal preparation, shopping, community trips, and other practical skills in both one-to-one and group sessions. You will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of structured sessions to measure progression and effectiveness.
Under the guidance of the Physiotherapist, you will run simple exercise classes and enable service users to complete their personal exercise programmes. You will participate in sessions with the physiotherapist to facilitate physical rehabilitation focusing on standing, gait/mobility, and balance.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will receive regional support and access to various training and online courses to support your career development and growth.
You will be working 23.5 hours per week.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* GCSE/O-level (A-C) Mathematics, English, and a Science subject or equivalent NVQ2
* At least 1 year of experience working in a rehabilitation facility or similar environment as an assistant
* Experience as an occupational therapy assistant, physiotherapy assistant, or other therapy assistant working under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
* Good command of the English language, with strong verbal and written skills
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
* Physical ability to handle job requirements such as pushing wheelchairs, assisting with standing, moving equipment, and helping with personal care

The centre is designed to support individuals with challenging and complex needs resulting from injuries, requiring a neurobehavioral rehabilitation program.
