Job overview

The operational Divisions and service Directorates are supported by a range of corporate services. These ensure the efficient and effective operation of our core businesses and support the delivery of our performance and regulatory functions. All corporate services staff are specialists who use their professional skills to provide services across the Trust.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.


Main duties of the job

Facilities Services is part of the Estates and Facilities Directorate, delivering in-house soft FM services within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, across Nottinghamshire, under the ROE agreement.

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Assistant to join our team atThe Health Shop, 12 Broad Street, Nottingham, NG1 3AL. This is a part-time role working15 hours per week, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays), with shifts consisting of 3 hours each morning. Exact start times will be discussed, but early starts will be required.

The primary focus of this role is cleaning, ensuring that all areas are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in line with infection control and health and safety guidelines. In addition to cleaning duties, there may be opportunities to support with basic catering and portering tasks as needed.

This position is based in an outpatient setting, and full training will be provided across all relevant duties. Uniform will also be supplied.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Assistant to join our team at The Health Shop, 12 Broad Street, Nottingham, NG1 3AL. This is a part-time role working 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays), with shifts from 6:00am to 9:00am each morning. The successful applicant will be required to cover other areas when needed. The ability to work effectively and flexibly, both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a high standard of work, is essential.

The primary focus of this role is cleaning, ensuring that all areas are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in line with infection control and health and safety guidelines. In addition to cleaning duties, there may be opportunities to support with basic catering and portering tasks as needed.

We offer in-house training to support your personal development plans and will provide all required training. Uniform will also be supplied.

Qualifications

* An understanding of cleanliness and good hygiene practices
* Recognised catering, cleaning or support services qualification


Training

* Ability to undertake all mandatory training as required by the individual site
* Ability to undertake any necessary skills and competency training required by the post


Experience

* Able to carry out instructions as detailed in the job description
* Experience or working within a catering, portering or cleaning environment
* Experience of working within healthcare environment which may include: a catering, cleaning or portering function.
* Experience of working within a food safety management system (HACCP)


Knowledge

* Understanding of commitment to the equality and diversity principles
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety
* An ability to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Trust values Knowledge and awareness of special diets and allergens
* Basic understanding of infection control
* Understanding of the responsibility relating to H&S at work and COSHH
