About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Ground Engineering team in Elgin, Scotland.
Role Purpose
To have overall accountability for successful project delivery including initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out. The role serves as a change agent that provides management, leadership and inspires a multi‑disciplinary team to achieve a common goal. The Project Manager determines the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project requirements, objectives and constraints; time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits.
Responsibilities
* Lead the successful delivery of key initiatives within the organisation.
* Implement a structured approach to project management, including regular project reviews, accurate documentation, and clear scope definition.
* Update essential documents such as the Digital Briefcase, maintain comprehensive project records, manage configuration and timely reporting, and make informed decisions to keep projects aligned with strategic objectives.
* Ensure a safe and productive work environment with a strong focus on Zero Harm: conduct safety and environmental tours, support accident investigations, stay abreast of legislative changes, and safeguard the welfare of the public, employees and the supply chain.
* Oversee health and safety systems to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
* Develop and update resource allocation plans, produce actionable strategies for achieving team goals, and foster talent pipelines through internal training, mentoring and performance management.
* Conduct regular risk and opportunity reviews, robust change control processes and precise cost management.
* Be accountable for KPIs, assurance activities and integration of digital data tools to enable consistent, data‑driven project delivery.
* Strong procurement and supply chain management, effective reporting routines and adherence to digital standards to deliver projects efficiently, within budget and in line with organisational strategy.
Key Qualifications
* Track record of project delivery.
* Good understanding of standard forms of contracts.
* Proficient in commercial/project management communications.
* Experience implementing safe systems of work.
* Effective verbal and written communication at all levels.
* Strong team management skills that empower, influence and inspire others.
* Commercially astute.
* Ability to work under high‑pressure situations.
* Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
* Solution‑based approach to problem‑solving.
* Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience on a variety of project types.
* Member of a professional management body, e.g. APM.
* Proficient on O365.
* Current driving licence.
Additional Credentials
* Formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in management/construction or equivalent experience.
* APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ.
* CSCS and SMSTS or equivalent.
