We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Foston Hall, a closed category women's Prison and Young Offenders Institution, located in the village of Foston in Derbyshire, England.

Opportunities for additional training.

Hours

37.5 hours a week working on a rota basis, Monday to Friday 7am-7:30pm (flexible). Expected to work 1 in 5 weekends.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £33,510 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.


Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

* You will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
* You will be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
* Promote safe patient care
* Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

* Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.

* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
