Access Employment Ltd, AEL, is a limited company with charitable status providing training and support to enable people with disadvantage, particularly those with learning disability to fulfil their work potential.
AEL are seeking a Kitchen catering assistant for our Lunchbox Cafe, to assist with dishwashing, preparation of food and beverage services, table service, operating till, whilst meeting customer expectations and maintaining food and hygiene standards.
Main Duties
· Washing dishes and loading dishwasher
· Clearing Tables
· Removing Kitchen Waste
· Undertake basic food preparation- making sandwiches etc.
· Plating food orders
· Serve food and drinks to customers.
· Operation of electronic till and cash handling.
· Deliver excellent customer service ensuring the needs and expectations of customers are met.
· Ensure food hygiene and health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
· Ensure that basic cleaning duties are carried out.
· Undertake training relevant to the post e.g. basic food hygiene course.
· To support AEL trainees to gain meaningful experience of employment as and when required.
· To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
General
Maintain a good standard of working practice, setting example to others and maintaining good working relations with the senior management team, staff, trainees, suppliers, customers, partners and stakeholders.
* Represent the ethos and values of AEL to the outside world, acting as a role model and mentor to other staff, volunteers, trainees and clients.
* Comply with and promote all AEL's policies and procedures.
* Uphold confidentiality at all times regarding AEL's trainees and business activities.

· Proven experience of delivering a customer facing service to excellent standards and results.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
· Ability to manage own workload.
· Ability to work as part of a team.
· Self-Motivated.
· Ability to get on with people from a range of backgrounds.
· Ability to work with adults with learning disabilities and awareness of their capabilities.
Desirable Criteria
· Previous Experience of working in a kitchen environment.
· Food Hygiene Certificate
