Perth & Kinross Council aims to provide the residents of Perth& Kinross area with a reliable refuse collection service.
\n
As a Refuse Collection Loader, you will provide an invaluable service to the residents of the Perth & Kinross area, ensuring that their refuse is collected on a regular basis.
\n
Your role will require you to collect waste and load it into a refuse collection vehicle on a specified route, you will uplift various types of waste, assist the drivers with the manoeuvring of the vehicle and any other tasks required by the service. You will be required to comply with the safe systems of work for refuse collection.
\n
This role operates on a shift pattern and the contracted shift pattern for this post is Monday-Thursday, 07:30hrs - 17:00hrs (36hrs). In order to comply with all Road Transport Regulations and to provide a continuous service 7 days a week you may be required to work at weekends.
\n
You will also be expected to be available to work on a standby basis, which will include working outside of your normal hours and being part of a standby rota. Works covered on standby, are usually planned in advance but may also be unforeseeable and therefore, you may be required to be available at short notice.
\n
This is an opportunity for you to provide a vital service to the community by ensuring that all waste is removed leaving a clean and tidy environment. You will have contact with members of the public and will act as a representative of the Council.

Skills & Experience Required
A driver’s licence is desirable but not essential for the post.
\n
To be successful in this role, you will be physically fit and be prepared to walk 20 miles per day carrying heavy loads over rough ground in all weathers.
\n
You will have a strong constitution with regards to adverse odours and must be prepared to work overtime, as the route that you will be on will require to be finished every day.
