HGV/ Plant Fitter Pyle £16.75 £21.00 per hour Depending on experience A privately owned Environmental Services business who supports a range of industries with a range of services is currently seeking an experienced HGV Fitter / Mechanic Technician to join their workshop team near Bridgend. This role is predominantly HGV-focused, working on a modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles and associated plant, with some involvement with a variety of vans This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV mechanic who takes pride in high standards of maintenance, safety, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, service, and repair HGVs Carry out Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) on HGV fleet vehicles Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults Prepare vehicles for MOT and inspections, including booking and compliance Accurately record workshop time, defects, and repairs Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workshop environment (including COSHH) Liaise with the workshop manager regarding required parts and workshop stock Provide technical support to operational teams regarding HGV defects or breakdowns Skills & Experience Proven experience as an HGV Fitter / Mechanic Strong HGV diagnostics and fault-finding skills Solid knowledge of HGV systems including engines, braking systems, suspension, hydraulics, and electrics Confident using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Full UK Driving Licence (required) HGV licence desirable but not essential If you want to be part of a growing business that prides itself on encouraging their team to develop and proving a collaborative environment, then we want to hear from you
