Van Driver

£12.21 per hour (Band 2, NHS)
Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
Temporary placement up to 3 months.
Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is looking for a reliable and motivated Van Driver to join their team. You will play a vital role in supporting hospital operations by transporting goods, equipment, and medical supplies safely and efficiently between sites.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide a delivery and collection service, including post, medication, vaccines, samples, medical records, and instruments.
* Sort and distribute post as part of the internal logistics function.
* Ensure secure delivery of items while in transit, including obtaining signatures for controlled drugs and blood products.
* Carry out daily vehicle checks, including monitoring tyre tread, fuel, oil levels, and reporting any defects.
* Ensure full compliance with traffic regulations and Trust policies at all times.
Person Requirements:
* Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
* Previous driver or courier experience preferred (but not essential)
* Good knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Basic vehicle maintenance awareness
* Trustworthy, professional, and physically capable of manual handling tasks
