Overview
The radiology department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a breast imaging Radiologist in response to growing demand. The role involves exposure to screening and symptomatic services and is based at the Breast screening unit at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
We are recruiting 1 radiologist. The successful candidate may be allocated to any HHFT site (Basingstoke, Winchester or Andover) as arranged in the job plan. The department is undergoing equipment replacement with DBT machines and refurbishment.
Responsibilities
* Breast and general radiology reporting as appropriate to experience.
* Share reporting responsibilities based on experience; participate in on-call/cover arrangements.
* Contribute to the running of the department (SPA allocation based on level of contribution).
* Attend and/or participate in regular discrepancy (REALM) meetings, Consultant meetings and quarterly strategy meetings (largely online).
* Engage with the department’s development during ongoing equipment upgrades and service evolution.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in breast imaging and general radiology.
* Ability to undertake reporting commensurate with experience and role.
Department and Site Information
Across HHFT there are 4 static mammography machines, 3 mobile breast screening vans, 5 static CT scanners and 3 static MRI scanners. The network includes a private imaging facility on the Basingstoke site (Candover Clinic) offering general X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI. Insignia PACS, CRIS and Talking Point Voice Recognition are integrated across HHFT; the PACS system is currently undergoing replacement. Home-reporting workstations are provided for all Consultant Radiologists to facilitate on-call service, flexible reporting and additional voluntary reporting (insourcing).
