A large and inclusive secondary academy in Dagenham is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated SENDCo to lead the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities. This is a permanent leadership role offering an exciting opportunity to shape SEND strategy and support across the school community.
The school is part of a well-established Multi-Academy Trust and has a strong reputation for inclusivity, safeguarding, and high expectations. The successful candidate will join a collaborative senior leadership team that is committed to providing all students with the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
* Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
* Oversee EHCPs, interventions, support staff deployment, and progress monitoring for pupils with SEND.
* Coordinate with external agencies and maintain up-to-date documentation and statutory compliance.
* Train and support staff to differentiate effectively and understand specific learning needs.
* Contribute to whole-school improvement planning with a focus on inclusive practice and outcomes for vulnerable learners.
* Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or be working towards it.
* Have significant teaching experience and a strong understanding of SEND leadership and strategy.
* Be confident in using data to track progress and identify areas for intervention.
* Demonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Be passionate about driving high-quality, inclusive education for all learners.
