About the Department:
Outwood Academy Kirkby places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. We believe that all support staff within our ‘Family of Schools’ are key posts in terms of securing student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences.
Drama is a vital subject and as such it plays a huge role in the school. It is a very popular subject with students with groups at both key stages 3 and 4. We are seeking a strong teacher who can really drive and build upon the current provision. We want to ensure there are plentiful opportunities for students to engage in music whether that is through the curriculum via expert teaching or through showcase opportunities such as: school productions, summer concerts and enrichment opportunities. Being part of a large Trust also enables drama teachers to have access to support via shared schemes of learning.
We are proud that Outwood Academy Kirkby is rated within the top 1% nationally for academic transformation based upon our outcomes. Following a strong Ofsted inspection in 2025 which validated the strength of our quality of education we are now in the underway of building a brand new state of the art school for our community.
Ideally we would be seeking a September start but would take into consideration prior commitments and appropriate start dates. The role is advertised as full time but would consider part time applications for the right candidate.
