Responsibilities
* Help patients and families comprehend medical facts, including diagnosis, likely course, and available management.
* Explain how heredity contributes to their condition and the risk of recurrence in relatives.
* Discuss options, including genetic testing, for managing risk.
* Assist in selecting the most appropriate course of action.
* Support patients in adjusting to the disorder and associated risks.
