As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the service's facilities are fit for purpose, gardening, and regularly conducting audits to identify and repair faults, ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff, and visitors.
Working alongside an established team, you will handle all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will have:
* Assisting in ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities, and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
* Utilising good DIY skills to ensure the safety of service users is maintained.
* Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
* Supporting the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
* Liaising with a manager to report faults and defects.
* Participating in a one-week on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
* Coordinating and supporting contractors on site, completing all paperwork and tool checks.
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Comply with systems and procedures.
* Have previous experience in a maintenance role.
* Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure high-quality service.
* Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
Where you will be working:
Location: Sturt's Lane, Walton on the Hill, Tadworth KT20 7RQ
You will work at Sturt House, a recovery-focused rehabilitation unit providing specialist mental health treatment for males aged 18 and over. Working as part of a team, you will provide individualized care and treatment, utilizing least restrictive practice principles and safe practices to support service users in their recovery.
Sturt House is committed to delivering high standards of care, with service users encouraged and supported to be actively involved in developing and reviewing their treatment plans in accordance with their abilities.
