Job description
The Role
1. As a Principal Fire Safety Advisor, you will be actively involved the design of new modern buildings and the refurbishment of existing building as part of the site expansion and development programme.
2. It also includes leading the delivery of fire safety through all aspects of a building lifecycle from concept design through to commissioning of fire systems and establishing management systems for fire safety.
3. This role provides development opportunities including maintaining continuous professional development.

4. Be a fire subject matter expert with a proven track record of delivering appropriate and accurate fire safety advice and guidance for building projects.
5. Delivery of fire prevention strategies and governance of fire protection systems.
6. Support the production and maintenance of fire safety process documentation and management strategies.
7. Providing support to the client in the control and mitigation of fire risk by conducting fire safety audits where the Construction Design and Management Regulations are applied.
8. Support facility projects by reviewing fire strategies, building drawings and other information as part of the fire safety design of site buildings.
9. Liaising with a network of facility engineering stakeholders on fire safety matters.
10. Undertake detailed fire risk assessments on complex buildings
11. Design and develop building fire strategies
What are BAE Systems looking for from you?
12. Experience in conducting complex fire risk assessments
13. Experience in developing retrospective fire strategies for existing buildings
14. Experience in developing retrospective fire strategies for existing buildings
15. Experience in reviewing concept design information for new projects and providing detailed fire safety scope of requirements working in a high hazard environment
16. Manage all fire safety aspects from concept design through all stages of build commissioning, fire risk assessment and handover to the client
17. Working knowledge of fire safety design guides including BS9999 and ADB.
18. Stakeholder management & relationship building experience.
19. Fire safety engineering experience gained from a high hazard engineering industry.

This role also requires you to be a sole British national.
The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
