As a Management Accountant, that involves:
· To provide management accounting support, and to monitor and evaluate financial efficiency of specific sectors of SEPA’s business, seeking continuous improvements and ensuring compliance with approved financial procedures and guidelines.
· To work with the Senior Finance Business Partners in preparing SEPA’s annual budget and three-year financial strategy to agreed timescales of corporate plan, and to fully involve the business in the calculation.
· To work collaboratively with budget managers to produce accurate forecast outturns to ensure SEPA’s budget is actively managed, and resources are fully utilised.
· To prepare monthly Portfolio financial monitoring reports, and present these to portfolio management teams.
· To provide management accounting support as required to facilitate implementation of organisational structure changes.
· To work in partnership with colleagues throughout SEPA to under understand the wide range of duties undertaken and ensure they are mapped to an appropriate funding source.
· Work in conjunction with the Senior Finance Business partner in the development of new systems and reporting to support a review of charges.
· To liaise with internal / external auditors as required
Respect for your expertise
This is a highly important role within our Finance, Modernisation and Digital portfolio which means you’ll need:
· CCAB or CIPFA Diploma in Public Financial Management, Reporting and Business Change (or equivalent).
· Excellent communication skills working with Managers at all levels.
· Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-focused mindset.
· Advanced excel and strong financial systems skills.
· Proven experience in reporting and analysis.
