Senior Healthcare Support Worker
Senior Healthcare Support Workers provide essential support across community and hospital settings, helping patients progress towards better health. In this role you will deliver personal care, promote nutritional well‑being, and assist in the recovery and recuperation of patients, particularly within a haemodialysis unit.
Responsibilities
* Assist in haemodialysis treatment under the supervision of registered nurses, following treatment protocols.
* Work collaboratively with dialysis unit staff and the wider renal multi‑disciplinary team to assess, plan and implement haemodialysis.
* Provide high‑standard personal care and support to patients throughout their journey.
* Promote nutritional needs and active recovery processes.
* Support patients’ emotional and physical well‑being, ensuring dignity and respect.
* Engage in ongoing training and development, including the opportunity to take on link nurse responsibilities.
Working Pattern
Part‑time, requiring shift work Monday–Saturday. Early shifts (07:30–18:30) and late shifts (12:00–23:00) will be needed. No overnight work is required; the unit is closed on Sundays, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Person Specification
* Essential – Excellent interpersonal skills, high standards of clinical practice, willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
* Desirable – Prior nursing or healthcare support experience; experience in haemodialysis or renal care is an advantage.
