Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our electrical team in a dynamic industrial environment. The role involves planning work schedules, supervising technicians and contractors, reviewing progress, and ensuring compliance with electrical and instrumentation standards.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement work schedules for the electrical team, including planned preventive maintenance, reactive breakdowns, and new installations.
* Direct supervision of day‑to‑day work, shift technicians and contractors.
* Review work order progress against time and required standards.
* Contribute to electrical design planning and updates of site electrical drawings.
* Provide progress reports to the work order planning and scheduling team.
* Coordinate with production and other departments.
* Support and oversee the site’s electrical and instrumentation compliance.
* Coach electrical apprentices.
* Identify and ensure the site has adequate spares for electrical infrastructure.
* Deputise for the Electrical and Instrumentation Superintendent, specifically relating to:
o High‑voltage operation and isolation
o Permit writing
o Work order scheduling and management
Qualifications
* City & Guilds, NC, or HNC in Electrical Engineering.
* Familiarity with maintenance management software and good understanding of MS Office.
* Certified for high‑voltage operation and isolation.
* Good experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
* Experience with heights, confined‑space entry and manual handling requirements.
* Knowledge or general awareness of ATEX equipment (preferred).
* Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD, EPLAN, or CYMAP (preferred).
