Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
The successful Materials Engineer you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our materials meet the highest of demands for industries including aerospace, defence, high performance automotive and more. This means you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, gaining diverse experience and skill sets.
The role will involve:
1. Material Mastery: Utilise your technical expertise and engineering judgment to make critical decisions on material when needed.
2. Root Cause Investigation: Lead or support technical troubleshooting efforts to uncover the root causes of material failures and implement effective solutions.
3. Tech Initiatives Support: Back up our technical initiatives such as material compliance, dual sourcing, and parts verification to keep us ahead of the curve.
4. Design Integration: Collaborate seamlessly with our R&D and design teams to ensure the smooth integration of new products into our manufacturing processes.
5. Process Optimisation: Develop and optimise manufacturing processes, including impregnation, pressing, and blown film lines, to enhance efficiency and quality.
6. Bid Support: Work with the project team to develop cost-effective manufacturing approaches and drive completion of cost reduction initiatives where required.
To be successful in this role of Materials Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
7. Educational foundation: Minimum of an HNC in relevant science or engineering field.
8. Technical experience desired but not essential: Previous experience in technical manufacturing engineering roles.
9. Proactive approach: Demonstrate a proactive manner with the ability to prioritize and support multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Problem-solving prowess: Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues.
11. Detail-oriented: Show a keen focus on detail, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
