About Us

At AUAR, we’re reshaping how the physical world is made - through sustainable, scalable, and radically better automation.

Our mission is bold: make sustainable, high-quality housing universally accessible. We’ve created an end-to-end, tech-driven approach - from our cloud-based design-to-manufacturing software MasterBuilder to pop-up robotic Micro-Factories that manufacture timber homes. We’ve proven our impact with early customers and are scaling fast across the UK, EU, and US. Backed by visionary leadership and a robust financial foundation having just closed a £5.1m funding round, we're not just building homes - we're building a better future for people and the planet.

You’ll be joining at a pivotal moment, with the autonomy to shape a critical function, and the opportunity to build something truly transformative from the ground up. If you're ready to lead, create, and build together - we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

AUAR is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our automation team on a contract basis. You will play a key role in installing and commissioning our state-of-the-art robotic Micro-Factory cells. Your work will involve pre-assembling a number of components in our space in London as well as working on-site at our Customer’s location - fitting mechanical, pneumatic components, ensuring all systems are built to our high standards of quality and precision. This role requires an eye for detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and a willingness to work in diverse locations, depending on customer needs.

We’re always looking for great people - particularly Mechanical Fitters on a contract, so we're accepting applications on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies with high precision, following detailed specifications and engineering drawings
* Install, connect pneumatic lines
* Perform fitting, alignment, and adjustment of parts and subassemblies
* Use hand and power tools effectively, safely, and in compliance with industry standards
* Conduct thorough testing and inspection to ensure assemblies meet quality and functionality requirements
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve discrepancies or issues during the assembly process, taking the initiative to propose improvements
* Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure smooth workflows and technical solutions
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, following company and customer procedures
* Maintain a clean, organised work area and contribute to a positive and efficient team environment

Requirements:

* Proven experience in the assembly of automated equipment or similar machinery
* Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
* Experience with measure/marking out factory equipment
* Familiarity with specific automation components (e.g., sensors, actuators)
* Experience with precision measurement tools
* Experience with power hand tools (e.g. SDS drills, angle grinder)
* Experience working with external contractors e.g. electrical contractors
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment
* Willingness to be on-site in London or a customer’s site (UK or EU) during the working week
* Right to work in the UK

*Accommodation, transport & £50/ days for breakfast, lunch and dinner unless based in the local vicinity

What We Offer

* Competitive salary based on experience.
* Share options - so we all share in AUAR’s success.
* 4 days in the office (London) or customer on-site.
* 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and seasonal closure).
* Health & dental insurance and well-being support.
* A values-driven culture where people and purpose come first.
* The chance to shape a category-defining product - and the future of construction.

We’re building a team as diverse as the communities we serve. If you see a part of this role that excites you - even if you don’t meet 100% of the criteria - we encourage you to apply. Let’s make housing better, together.

We are committed to creating an equitable, inclusive and diverse workplace. We intend to run an equal, fair and inclusive hiring process. If you feel there is any area we could improve, please let us know at info@auar.io.
