We are currently recruiting for a Shift Supervisor to join our established team based in our busy Yate depot. The successful candidate will lead one of our Day Shift teams working 5am to 2pm and 1pm to 10pm Monday to Friday, rotating weekly.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, organised, and an excellent communicator with prior experience working in a “hands-on” supervisory capacity. An ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, whilst ensuring your team is motivated and focused to complete their tasks efficiently are further requirements. They must have a valid Combilift or Counter Balance licence and be able to conduct manual handling work picking orders, though we do make use of mechanical plant equipment where possible. Whilst experience of working with timber products would be an advantage, it is not essential as training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring staff comply with all Company policies and procedures, including following Health & Safety safe working processes.
2. Excellent communication with staff at all levels.
3. Organising, delegating, and monitoring work so that all requirements are achieved.
4. Forklift operation, loading and unloading of lorries, picking orders, goods inwards.
5. Leading your team by example in a positive manner with a unified approach.
