Job Summary
Based at West Cumberland Hospital, we are seeking to recruit Registered Nurses (Child), with active RSCN registration, to work within our paediatric emergency department. Up to 36 hours band 5 hours are available on a fixed term basis. This vacancy offers the opportunity to be part of a growing, vibrant paediatric team, providing effective health care to the people of north Cumbria and working to bring about dynamic change in the way patients requiring health care are managed in west Cumbria.
Key Responsibilities
* You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care, providing the prescribed nursing care without supervision.
* You will also contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice within the department and ward area.
* You will provide nursing care in accordance with local policies, procedures and guidelines.
* You will comply with the NMC code of professional conduct.

* Essential: Registered Nurse child with active NMC registration or working towards it.
* Desirable: Relevant post‑registration development or equivalent.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Applicants will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The cost of the DBS check is £27.40 for a standard check and £55.40 for an enhanced check, deducted from salary over the following four months or paid as a one‑off. This is required under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) Exemptions Order 1975.
