We are recruiting up to 10 analysts for roles including Economics Officer, Scientific Officer, Research Officer, and Higher Statistical Officer to support various policy and business areas over the next six months.
DWP is known for its evidence-based approach, with analysts working in multidisciplinary teams across the organization. They develop the evidence base and provide analysis to support key decisions on policies and projects. The access to extensive data allows real-time analysis and outcome tracking.
Job Role:
The Analytical Community at DWP comprises around 800 analysts, including Economists, Operational Researchers, Social Researchers, Statisticians, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts. These analysts are organized into 19 Lead Analyst areas across the Department. Our analytical services are in high demand, and we continue to grow, offering numerous development, training, and promotion opportunities. Our roles are profession-neutral, providing diverse analytical experiences. Positions can be based at any of our hub locations, with a strong presence outside London.
Essential Criteria:
1. Proven analytical experience applying relevant professional tools and techniques, ensuring quality assurance (Lead Experience Criterion).
2. Experience in promoting, using, and communicating analysis with various stakeholders.
3. Experience managing analytical projects with multiple stakeholders and competing demands.
Qualifications:
Applicants must either:
* Be a current, permanent, badged member of one of the following Government analytical professions: Government Economic Service, Government Operational Research Service, Government Statistician Group, or Government Social Research Service.
* Or hold qualifications qualifying them to become a badged member of one of these professions. Details of qualification requirements for non-badged candidates are in the candidate pack.
