Health and Safety Manager
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Manager to support our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety standards.
As an H&S Manager at Vuba, you will:
* Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practices across all manufacturing operations.
* promotion a culture centered on continuous improvement and active employee engagement in all aspects of health and safety
* Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Lead the development and delivery of health and safety training programs, toolbox talks, and induction sessions for all employees and contractors.
* Review and update HSE policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. HSE, ISO 45001).
* Support and advise management and operational teams on health and safety issues, helping to embed best practices across the site.
* Coordinate emergency response planning, including fire drills and first aid readiness.
* Collect, analyse, and report on HSE performance data to identify trends and drive improvement initiatives.
* Liaise with external bodies, such as regulatory authorities and auditors, during inspections and compliance reviews.
* Work with the Production manager to build and improve on SOP’s for the business
* Any other Ad hoc duties
* Qualifications and Experience:
* NEBOSH General Certificate
* Proven experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels of the business.
* Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems (e.g. SHEQ, RAMS, incident reporting tools).
